And here is some Safe For Work art from Devil's Deal: A Dark Fantasy Romance. The book is coming along nicely, and I love spending time in its world. I feel like these illustrations capture the ambiance of the book perfectly.

But this morning, I woke up with my right eye purple. Not bruised. Purple. Until today, both my eyes were green like fern leaves. I don’t know why one changed color. I hadn’t even noticed until Daga’s mother saw me and cried out.

She called me the devil’s spawn. She said I had finally revealed my colors. And that I’d pay for cursing her family.

When I look at his face, a scream lodges in my throat, painful and sharp just like the taste of his name on my tongue. I can’t let it out. My body is not my own. Someone else—he, it must be him—controls it.

His eyes are shockingly bright in the dark gray face, their irises deep yellow. The colors seems to swirl and twist in a hypnotic dance that keeps my gaze trapped as I stare, my body growing number, my mind dazing. More hot wetness trickles down my both cheeks, and I think I hear a worried female voice in the distance, asking someone to stop.

I take a hungry gulp of air when I emerge, water sliding down my face. The devil sits on the river bank, his antlers silhouetted against the moon.

It's a dark romance, and both the world and the romantic relationship contain dark elements. I'm compiling the list of trigger warnings as I go, and I can share what I have for now.

Trigger Warnings for Devil's Deal (incomplete!)

General themes: death, grief, gore, violence, mutilation, limb amputation, labor, miscarriage, infant death, domestic violence, infertility, impotence, public orgy, animal death, auguring from animal entrails, secretive medication of a spouse, bullying, discrimination;

Triggers between MCs: physical violence, attempts at mind and body control, insistent seduction, threats of sexual assault, choking, non-consensual blood drinking;

Kinks: orgasm denial, pain induced by MMCs anatomy, shadow magic, blood drinking.

Like I said, this list is very incomplete, and more items will be added as I write. Also, these are trigger warnings for book one, and I can't tell you with any certainty what other triggers will be included in the rest of the series. What I can assure you of is that there won't be any non-consensual sex between the main characters. The physical violence between MCs is not a major theme and doesn't repeat often, but it's definitely present. It's an enemies-to-lovers romance.
