[ARC Team] Wed to the Basilisk is Live 🥳
Apr 27, 2024 11:53 am
Hey !
Wed to the Basilisk is live and the ratings and reviews are INCREDIBLE! I was blown away by how many amazing reviews I got from my ARC team, and so I thank you, , from the bottom of my heart, for joining my team! If you already left a review, take double the gratitude and thanks. I had such an amazing launch day thanks to you!
Now, if you already got my email on Wednesday about the book being live, that's because you're on my regular newsletter list. This email right now goes out only to my amazing ARC team members 💚
So yes, if you already reviewed, thank you so much! If you haven't and wish to review, the book is live and available on most platforms. Below are the major links. Pick whichever is the most convenient - or another platform of your choice.
I don't require any proof of submitting a review. Also, reviewing is completely voluntary, so no pressure. If you belong to any reader communities online and would like to share something about this book, I am completely fine with that - but again, that's completely up to you.
We're all here to have a great time, so that's always the number one goal!
Future ARCs
If you got this email, that means you're a part of my permanent ARC team. You'll continue getting all my available ARCs until you unsubscribe or let me know you'd like to leave. You can download or skip any of my future ARCs, whatever is best for your schedule and preferences.
Also, I just wanted to make it clear that it's best to download every ARC ebook you want to read as soon as you get my email that it's available.
Because of Amazon's Terms of Service, I have to disable ARC downloads the moment my book hits the Amazon store and the Kindle Unlimited program, because all KU book must be exclusive to Amazon. I can't make them available anywhere else once they are live on Amazon.
If you have any questions about ARCs or what being on my ARC team entails, you can reply to this email and I'll do my best to answer quickly!
What's Next?
This one I'm really excited about! My next book goes live on summer solstice, so June 21, and it's a dark fantasy romance based on Slavic folklore with spice, dark themes, a witch FMC and a demonic MMC. It's called The Devil's Deal. Here is the cover.
This book will be long and NOT a standalone. It will be the first book in the series and will end on a cliffhanger. I plan to release the second book in December this year. Once I have all the trigger warnings, I'll share them with you so you can decide whether you want to pick this one up. There are dark themes and the romance itself is dark and sensual.
Oooh, let's do a teaser! This isn't really NSFW, so it should be safe.
“I enjoyed your wine,” he says, and my skin flames with heat.
I don’t know why, but he made the words sound entirely too suggestive. Something squirms in my belly, hot and eager, but the feeling is lost under the current of revulsion.
Cold slithers down my spine and I try to move away, but his grip tightens. Sharp tips of his claws dig into my stomach.
“It can be so easy, Jaga,” he says, lowering his face to my ear. My eyes widen, because his voice sounds so different. It’s lost all the cruel, demanding edges and is now soft and tantalizing like a caress.
When his lips press to the shell of my ear for the briefest moment, I jolt hard.
“W-what?” I ask, desperately trying to call back my previous disgust while a hot, helpless wave of need shivers down my spine. Suddenly, his proximity feels confusingly good.
“Giving in,” he purrs.
Ah, I just love this book! If you don't know, I'm Polish and I live in Poland. I grew up listening to tales about devils, likhos, and mortals making deals with cunning, malevolent creatures.
I adore Slavic mythology and find it deeply fascinating with its approach to the afterlife and eternity. Symbols like oaks, storks, fire, and poppies are so magical and powerful in my country's folklore. All of that will be in this book, and I can't wait for you to read it!
But first, I have to write it 😅
So yes, I'll be busy writing it all through May, and you'll hear from me once the book is finished and with my editor. I expect to send out ARCs around the middle of June, but that depends on me and my editor, so no promises! I'll let you know once I have some concrete dates.
And I think that's it! Thank you for being on my ARC team, ! I hope you have an amazing rest of your weekend.
Love,
Layla
