From the Archives: Suit Combos Playing in 1NT
Does anyone else dread playing in 1NT?
1NT hands can be so hard to play because, with the strength so balanced between the partnerships, it is often unclear which suits to develop and which to avoid.
Graeme Tuffnell joins us to help us practice the thinking that we need to exercise at each step.
Our first question: what can we learn from the opening lead? What does West's ♥7 tell us? What we can guess about the heart distribution from the lead will help us decide what to play next.
Step by step, we can find our way through 1NT hands. Don't be scared to give away the lead - when it comes back to you, it might come back with interest.
