Counting your winners and losers in bridge with Adam Parrish

Feb 11, 2021 12:01 am

Hi ,

Should I count my winners? Should I count my losers? What's the difference?!?! I hope I'm not the only one who can't always remember which to do and when.

Adam Parrish has been so kind in creating four new videos on when and why we should count our winners, and when and why we should count our losers.

We hope you enjoy the first video:

Counting your winners - hand 1

At trick one, we want to make sure we're taking a moment to plan before we start playing.

When playing in notrumps, start by counting your sure winners. In this hand, we're in 3NT and we have eight sure winners. What is the best way we can play this bridge hand to create another winner?

In each suit, how many extra tricks might we be able to develop?

Watch the video above and then try playing through the hand from all four seats using the link below.

Members of the class can join the class live (Thursdays at 1pm, New York time) or watch the video replay later at their convenience while playing the featured hands in a private tournament over at BBO.

This class is focused on card play and is appropriate for both Standard and Acol players. Please reach out if you have any questions. All are welcome.
