As we approach Christmas and the end of the year, I must admit I'm still in a bit of shock at how strangely/quickly this last year has passed. For many of us, it has brought many challenges, some we are still managing.

Being able to connect with so many bridge friends from around the world has been a real beacon of joy for me. Despite everything else going on, the chance to get together - even if just in a virtual sense - has been something I look forward to each week.

It wouldn't be the first time a metaphor for life has been found at the bridge table, so forgive me if this feels cliched... Not every hand or play session is easy or goes according to plan, and yet we keep playing, hoping that the cards might smile on us in the next deal. And so, as 2022 brings a chance for the new beginnings, I hope that - through both ups and downs - you'll keep an optimism that the upcoming year might just be a wonderful one.

Thank you for helping make Learn Bridge Online the fun and supportive place that it is. I am truly grateful.
