Can the lead help us choose which suit to finesse? - Declarer play with Adam Parrish
Jan 10, 2023 1:31 pm
Hi ,
I hope your 2023 is off to a wonderful start! I must admit my play has really been struggling recently - I suppose that means there is even more room for improvement this year?
In previous years, I believe I wished for us all to have an abundance of fantastic hands at the table. This year? I hope we all play the less-than-fantastic hands as best we can!
No matter what cards you are dealt at the table, I want to wish you happiness and health this year. I am grateful for your bridge friendship and support. We'll all keep learning together. :)
Now, let's start the year off with a fun video from Adam Parrish...

Adam recorded another fun hand from his Thursday Declarer Play class. After a wild auction, we end up with a 6♠ contract. West leads the ♣2. Let's count our losers and decide how we will proceed.
With a loser in hearts and one in clubs, we'll have to get rid of one of them. We can't do anything about the heart loser, but West's club lead should make us hesitant to count on a club finesse.
Is there an alternative? Can you spot another way we can get rid of these club losers?
