Hi, ,

I hope you had a lovely Easter! We enjoyed the interesting experience of blowing out eggs to then decorate the empty shells. I nearly fainted from the effort but we all had a laugh at the disgusting way the egg yolk squirted out.

In this week's hand, presented by LBO's very own Bridget Rampton, we are in 4♥ and dummy comes down:

♥Q32 ♠AK8 ♦T982 ♣KQ7

and

♥AJT97 ♠Q32 ♦543 ♣A4

Missing the ♥K, what's our best route to make our contract? How do we weigh our options to best avoid going down?

Thank you, Bridget, for sharing this instructive hand with us! Please leave a question or comment about this hand here: https://youtu.be/pNNIOcWtOnY

Yours partner in learning,

Bajir from LBO

Included for members of Bridget's weekly class (for a limited time, join with a free 2-week trial!). Starting April 18th, Bridget will be teaching a four-week series on communication between hands (and breaking the communication between the opponents' hands:

"Bridge is all about communication. It’s one of the things that makes it such a great game.

Communication comes into every aspect of bridge. The bidding, the play and the defence.

We’ll start by looking at communication in defence by focusing on our signals and discards with our partner. How can we let our partner know what’s going on? There is no need to just play our cards randomly…let’s use them to talk.

In the second and third lesson we can look at keeping communications flowing when you are the declarer. We’ll cover the communication between dummy and the hand, and also look at breaking communications between the defenders.

In the fourth lesson we’ll look at some bidding communication. What’s been said by what’s not been said."

Bridget's students have been raving about her lessons and we'd love to have you join us! Learn more here:
