Hi ,
I'm really excited to share this brand new video lesson taught by Tina McVeigh!
For those of you who don't know Tina, she is one of New Zealand's most acclaimed and loved bridge teachers. She teaches at the wonderful House of Cards in Christchurch, NZ. AND!!! She was my first bridge teacher!
Years ago (I'm not going to count how many), I was hired by Tina and Graeme to help them launch and grow what became their site for playing bridge, Sky Bridge Club. One small problem: at the time, I had never played a hand of bridge in my life!
It was through Tina's books, lessons, and encouragement that I first learned the fundamentals of this wonderful game. So you can imagine how proud I am to have her teaching here at LBO.
Today's is the first of four new free short video lessons we have made in her popular series, Common Mistakes in Bridge. The following videos will be sent to you all in the coming weeks. I hope you enjoy!
A request for you: if you can think of any friends or folks at your bridge club who you think might enjoy these videos, please forward them this email so they can register here.
Thank you for watching and for your support. Wishing you all the best.
Your partner in learning,
Bajir

Lesson 1: Work with your partner
by Tina McVeigh
Do you sometimes forget to think about your partner's hand or ignore the clues in the auction? You're not alone - it is a common mistake.
Look at this hand:
You are on lead against 3NT. You would like to set up some heart tricks. Should you lead a heart and, if so, which heart? If not, what is your alternative?
Opening leads are often critical and you should give your choice careful thought. It is the only decision you make looking at 13 cards rather than 26. After the opening lead you will be able to see dummy as well as your own hand.
