Aggressive vs. Passive Defending in Bridge
In half of all bridge hands your side is defending. There are great gains to be made by improving your defence and it is all about gathering information and putting together the pieces of the puzzle. Join Pam for this free introductory defence course and find out why defence is her favourite part of the game.
These four lessons will be appropriate for all bidding systems.

Good News from New Zealand
In other news, congratulations to Pam and the NZ team for their fantastic play this last weekend in the World Bridge Federation matches against Australia.
Here is a message for us all from Pam:
"The Zone 7 playoffs between New Zealand and Australia were held over the weekend. For the first time they were played on RealBridge. Five sections were contested with the players congregating in either Auckland or Christchurch. So no, we didn't play from our homes, because this was a World Bridge Federation event and was closely supervised.
Three pairs were in Christchurch - my partner (Jan) and I, our teammates (Jenny and Shirley) and a Seniors Pair - along with our team captain Kris. Our other pair (Carol and Andi) were in Auckland. We had our score up and team talk online.
I loved it. We played 6 x 16 board stanzas with each pair playing two per day. The result was pretty good for us 221 - 116. It would be wonderful to have the opportunity to play against other countries too.
All games were played in excellent spirit with the Australians being a pleasure to play and to get to know. Many thanks to my team - you played so well and were fabulous teammates.
New Zealand won: Open, Women, Mixed
Australia won: Senior, Youth"

A Musical Break
Lastly, who else has been missing going to the theater?!?
Did you know our teacher Adam Parrish is also a skilled playwright and songwriter? He recently released a couple new songs from his new musical, Swipe Right. Enjoy!
