Hi bridge friends,

We have another monster hand! How should be bid this hand making sure we are forcing partner to keep bidding?

Jack Stocken guides us through the auction and all the way to slam, explaining which bids will be 100% forcing. Once we make it through the auction, we have to make our slam contract and it feels like a trap has been set for us!

With eleven winners, how are we going to develop one more? And what do we do when we realize the opponents' spades were split 6-1?!?

This hand was sent in by two of Jack's students. Thank you Tomoko and Eunice!

Upcoming Lessons in Jack's Monday class:

Forcing or Non-forcing

In these two lessons we will look at many different bidding sequences and the students will be asked which bids are game forcing and which are non-forcing, so plenty of scope for interaction. We will also look at bids that are just forcing for one round.

4441

All bridge players find the dreaded 4441 hand difficult to bid. Hopefully after this lesson it wil be a bit easier to bid these horrid hands!

Putting it All Together

We will review everything we've learned in the last six weeks and look towards how we can keep integrating these lessons into our ongoing play.

Forcing or Non-forcing - Con't

We will continue to look at many different bidding sequences, discussing which bids are game forcing and which are non-forcing.

I hope you are doing well. Please take good care of yourself.

Yours,

Bajir from Learn Bridge Online
