Secret house of a secret society

Before the world ended, I went to visit the Rosenbach museum in downtown Philadelphia. It’s a museum that showcases old manuscripts, especially Herman Melville, who is a favorite there. The building itself is amazing, an old townhouse with sumptuous period details.
Someone told me that in London, there were neighborhoods in which the area was so valuable, rich people had dug out several floors deep of sub-basements underneath their luxe townhomes to accommodate all the square footage they wanted. I decided to use that as a basis for the setting of the Society of the Golden Mean’s house, the secret society that forms a big part of the plot of Warlock’s Blood, since much of Warlock’s Blood is set in Philadelphia. As far as I know, no one has really done that in Philadelphia, but I love the idea of a secret society having an old house with secret basements. Why set something in an old city if you can’t have ancient and luxurious settings?
It probably looks like I can write a book a month, based on my publishing cadence this year, but Warlock’s Blood took me about 10 months to write. However, the original planned release date was March 1, 2021, so I actually got this out early. You’re welcome :) I’ll send an official announcement next week along with a special surprise I have planned. If you’d like to buy it today, here’s the universal book link. Already finished it? Please rate and review!
If you've read Warlock's Blood, I'd love to hear what you thought of it. Also, have you noticed I have a new email provider? It's a little more bare-bones, but I don't think I need all the bells and whistles of the other one.
If you want something with fewer vampires and assassins, Jessica Metzger is offering a free promo copy of her middle grade fantasy "A Crack in the World"
And in other exciting news, I got Zinko a pet cat. (Zinko is on the right.) The new cat is so tiny, we made him a sweater out of a sock, which he graciously tolerated. We're still trying on names for him, but the frontrunner is "Hades."
