Dating your grandkids’ friends is creepy.

Sometimes stories come from the bad decisions we can’t help making.
When people say “vampires are creepy” they usually are talking about the sucking blood thing. But you know what else is creepy? Dating people younger than your grandkids. It’s not quite like the dad who hits on his daughter’s friends, but it’s in the ballpark.
In Dryad’s Blade, Kit gets involved with Fain, the sexy vampire with ulterior motives. I loved writing Fain because he’s the quintessential bad boy. The other thing I loved about Kit’s relationship with Fain is that I think that the dissolution of a relationship is almost as interesting as its formation. Bad boys make bad boyfriends.
Anyone who’s ever been a teenage girl dating a bad boy probably knows why Fain’s attractive. Anyone who has been there and done that knows that it often leads to a grotesque and glorious implosion. So if you like the bad-boy romance, read Dryad’s Blade, and if you want to grab your popcorn and remember all the reasons why dating a bad boy is a train wreck in slow motion, read Vampire’s Dayrunner.
Fain resurfaces in Sorrow’s Apprentice, so if you can’t get enough of him, definitely pick that one up. I still chortle when I think about how Kit puts one over on her ex.
