Dear ,
At the end of this mail, you'll discover
WHY YOU SHOULDN'T DISCARD YOUR BUSINESS IDEA BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE CAPITAL.
In my book, Start your business with Zero capital, I shared a simple concept.
If you can't make money without having any money, then you won't make much when you have access to funding.
I've spoken with a number of persons who tell me that they are stuck.
They have a business idea but they don't have capital.
So I say "what are you doing about it?" and they go.... "I'm waiting for capital"
You might as well wait forever.
True entrepreneurs don't "wait" for things to happen.
They make things happen.
A true entrepreneur will find a way to make things work even if he has zero cash.
Vusi gave an example that a made a lot of sense to me.
So a lady came to his VC fund kini Kan looking for funding so she could buy up a poultry farm.
Vusi asks her a question "How do you know the business will be cash flow positive?"
"Any knowledge on birds?"
"Ever managed a farm before?"
Answer was no!!!
And here she was, looking for 1 million Rands.
So Vusi tells her...
"I will give you 50,000 Rands so you could go buy eggs and start selling"
"Go to the roadside, markets, etc sell the eggs until you double the money, triple the money, make your first 500k just selling eggs"
"After you make 500k, we can talk about linking you with a farm who will supply you eggs and then you keep selling until you raise 1 million, 2 million, 5 million"
Next you want to partner with a poultry farm, know how things work, gain some experience in the farm.
Note that while selling eggs, you've built a customer base.
It becomes easy for you to sell your eggs if you start a farm.
You want to start a car wash?
No capital?
Start doing home service first.
You can raise money that way.
Entrepreneurs don't relax and lazy about because there is no capital.
An entrepreneur will always find a way to make things work.
That is the true spirit of entrepreneurship.
If you're not ready for the hustle and struggle...
Then go get a job.
Even job sef no easy too
You can always start somewhere guys.
Don't let capital stop you.
This quote will make sense now.
"Do what you have to do, so that you can do what you want to do"
JD.
