9 things IDK right now

Mar 14, 2020 5:24 am

My school, like many others, are switching to remote learning next week.

Here are 9 questions I have about the situation. If you have answers, reply and let me know.

1) How many parents of elementary children will be able to take off? How many won't?

2) How many teenagers will realize they can actually learn better when not distracted in a classroom?

3) How many kids will be upset they have to stay home because they don't want to be there?

4) How many kids will discover or do something interesting they never would have done if they didn't have this unexpected long stretch of time?

5) How many teachers will discover they like doing remote teaching and will look into doing it as a new direction for themselves?

6) How many teachers will realize that they actually need their daily routine, and won't really know what to do with themselves?

7) How many school district leaders are saying "Oh $*&# we're not ready..."?

8) How many district leaders will discover an incredible new way to deal with unexpected closures, or even work these types of periods into the schedule?

9) How many unknown unknowns do I have about this whole situation?

If you have answers or predictions, please share.

Thanks for reading,

Gerard Dawson
