Hey there, fellow biohackers, builders, and entrepreneurial wizards!
Welcome to this week's edition of FYFY. I'm Dom, your guide on this journey, where we'll delve into transforming purpose into reality and unlocking your potential. My mission is to empower 21,000 European thinker-doers by 2025 to leverage exponential technologies and impact a billion lives by the end of this decade.
This week, Iām thrilled to share with you a little assistant that is set to redefine the way we interact with audio content: 'Whisper Notes.' Born out of a need to streamline the note-taking process, this application is a fine demonstration of AI's potential in enhancing productivity and convenience in our everyday lives.
'Whisper Notes' is a seamless blend of OpenAI Whisper, a cutting-edge automatic speech recognition system, and LangChain, a robust tool for language model prompt generation. The result? An AI-powered co-pilot that efficiently transforms your audio recordings into comprehensive written summaries.
Here's the MVP:
This versatile tool caters to a wide range of scenarios - from professional corporate meetings to academic lectures, and even your personal brainstorming sessions. With a user-friendly interface, 'Whisper Notes' makes the transition from spoken content to written text effortless, ensuring that you never miss out on crucial information during the note-taking process. And it works with copy/pasting existing transcripts, too.
Here's an example recording & transcript turned into meeting notes:
However, it's crucial to discuss data privacy. For this version, your audio recordings are transcribed by sending data to OpenAI via an API using your OpenAI API key. But I understand the need for greater data control and privacy. That's why I'm experimenting with a version that runs exclusively on your machine, employing either Whisper or Whisper.cpp. This setup allows for full control over your transcripts, in combination with another open-source language model like Alpaca or Llama 2. So stay tuned for updates on this front!
The genesis of 'Whisper Notes' wouldn't have been possible without the fantastic work done by Joris de Jong. I found the original code for this application on his GitHub. For those of you keen on trying out 'Whisper Notes' yourself, feel free to check it out.
Discover the power of 'Whisper Notes' and experience a new level of convenience and productivity today! It's a free alternative to otter & Co.
Yours truly,
Dom.
