3 Tips to Finish Strong this Season

"It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish."
…and with just a few weeks left in the season, NOW is the time to finish strong.
So what can you do to ensure you are playing your best soccer in your final matches?
I have 3 peak performance tips plus a Free Resource guaranteed to help.

💦 1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate, like your performance, depends on it (because it does).
Dehydration can affect reaction time, and focus, and even lead to cramping, it is a performance killer.
To fight it:
Drink early and often: Aim to drink plenty of water throughout the day leading up to the match. A good rule of thumb is to consume around 8-10 glasses of water daily, and more on game days.
For hot weather or very intense games, consider electrolyte drinks like Gatorade or other sports drinks, but remember water should still be your primary source of hydration.
🥙 2. Fuel up with the good stuff.
Ditch sugary snacks and processed foods that cause crashes.
Instead, load up on complex carbohydrates like whole-wheat pasta, brown rice, and sweet potatoes for sustained energy release throughout a match.
Also, don't forget protein! Lean meats, fish, and beans are essential for recovery and help repair tissue after tough games or training sessions.
🛏 3. Mental Edge + Recovery.
Soccer is a mental battle as much as a physical one.
Prioritize sleep - aim for 7-8 hours of quality rest each night to sharpen your focus and feel your best.
Light stretching and foam rolling can help reduce muscle soreness and aid recovery.
Finally, visualize success!
Before the game, spend a few minutes mentally rehearsing and executing to perfection. This can boost your confidence, help you battle nerves, and keep you focused.
