a heck-tic bookfunnel

Hey guys, it's time to talk a bit about my upcoming novel, Heck McTyre, Necromanfluencer. It's an urban fantasy/comedy/mystery. Think somewhere between the Addams Family and the Dresden Files, with a dash of Evil Dead thrown in.
I was inspired by a Reddit comment, of all things. Someone found an unmarked grave on their property and a coffin. Don't ask me for any specifics, but there was a user comment that said "Hi, I'm Bob the Necromancer, and this is gonna be today's unboxing."
That hit me like a ton of bricks.
What a brilliant concept!
And that's what we open with. A necromancer, an unmarked grave, and a live unboxing.
The other big inspiration was KLS. Kline-Levin Syndrome. This is a sleep (and psychological) disorder where the afflicted go through phases of hypersomnia and sleep up to 20 hours at a time, often displaying altered behavior. My idea was creating a fantastic version where our Necromancer takes involuntary trips to the Underworld, where time moves differently and he's lived a second lifetime. There, Heck's death magic is at its most powerful, but he is at his most vulnerable... the Dead recognize a bridge to the living when they see one.
This dichotomy of shunning sleep but needing it, of feeling like death in life but tasting vigor and power in the Underworld echoes on the themes of the Necromanfluencer series. Life and death. Asleep and awake. Anonymity and celebrity. Debt and legacy.
But that's all the high concept side of things. Mostly it's a romping good time and a fast-paced read watching one snarky and sleep-deprived guy stumble his way through a dusty conspiracy.
August will feature weekly newsletters instead of twice-monthly, providing some snippets of the novel's setting, the characters, and a cover reveal. September it's back to same ol' same ol'.
BOOK FUNNEL
My three sample chapters are included in two different Bookfunnel promos going on right now. A General Fantasy Promo. And an Urban Fantasy Promo. Though looking at it the latter trends toward romance, so be warned.
Scour the promos and see if something stands out. A ton of talented authors involved so there's bound to be something that will impress.
ARC READERS
Or, if you'd like to read the novel in full and agree to post an honest review on Amazon and/or Goodreads between August 31st and September 5th, I'll send you a review copy.
Every review helps, no matter how small.
Be excellent to one another,
