Book Events
This time last week, I was in London for RARE. Let me tell you, it's a huge event. It was great being in London again. I arrived earlier in the week to give my body a chance to acclimate, but also to have more time to see the city. I had the privilege of having my friend Michel Prince with me acting as my PA. If you don't know her, check out her catalog. It's massive.
Besides seeing the city, I had the opportunity to connect with new authors and readers. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. And, if you get the chance to fly across the pond. Take it!
I'm rolling right out of RARE and preparing for Writer's on the River in Peoria, Illinois. As of yesterday, there were still a few General Admission tickets left. So, you have a chance to come see me and some other great authors.
Unfortunately, my pre-order is closed. However, I'll have a selection of titles available in Paperback and Ebook format. Although not my entire catalog, there will still be options. 😊

Sad News in the Author Community
While I was traveling to London, I received the devastating news that we lost a bright light in the IR author community. Author Twyla Turner, who'd been courageously battling pancreatic cancer, passed away. Although it's been a week since I heard the news, it's still very difficult to wrap my mind around the fact that I won't see, hear, or interact with her again.
Twyla had such an impact in the writing community, but specifically with me. She was the first author I read who wrote curvy/plus size heroines, unapologetically. They were loved by the hero exactly as they were, without a need to change. No diets or exercise regime was required before he noticed her existence. I fell in love with her writing from her first book and that love continues.
I'm beyond sad that her brilliance has been taken from us so soon. But I am better for having known her. I will continue to take her life, and use it for inspiration. I will draw courage from her shared experiences. And when I'm a little scared to try something new, I'll ask myself, 'What would Twyla do?' Fight. Live boldly and out loud. Try it at least once.
