Last Quarter of the Year

Hey there!
I know it's been awhile. My apologies for my lengthy absence. I hope everything has been well in your world. In light of the time between my this and my last newsletter, this one will be a little longer than usual.
Since my last communication, things have gotten busier. My paranormal novel, Chosen, was released April 28th while I was in Florida at IRAE (Interracial Romance Author's Expo). At the time, I was already working on getting my next book finished and was around 80% into it.
Well, that book was completed in May and has been through edits and proofing. Involuntary is scheduled for release on September 2nd. That's right. Tomorrow my third full length novel will go out into the world. 😬
As if it wasn't enough to get Involuntary edited and proofed, I started working on my fourth novel and launched my first Kindle Vella story, Draft Pick. If you aren't familiar with Vella stories, I'll try to quickly fill in the gap. The stories are serial and come out in episodes depending on the schedule the author selects.
In essence, the reader gets to read the story as it's being written using tokens purchased from Amazon. The first three episodes of any story are free to read and Amazon offers 200 free tokens to get you started.
Y'all...being an independent author isn't for the faint of heart, but it's been rewarding to wake up each day and do something I love the way I love creating stories. The plot bunnies are endless and the characters waiting for their books to be written are patient--mostly.
In addition to getting my third novel (fourth book) ready to publish and launching my Vella series, I also attended my first book signing as a published author at Royal Readers in Minneapolis at the Mall of America. I had a great time and met some amazing new readers.
Next up is the BWSL (Black Women Swirl Literature) event at Niagara Falls, Canada from September 21-24. I'm looking forward to visiting Canada as well as interacting with other authors and readers.
As I line up signing events for next year, I hope to get a chance to meet and interact with all of you at some point. I'm currently scheduled to attend Readers Take Over Denver in March, IRAE in April, and Swirling in the Big Easy in September.
Thank you for your continued support of my book babies! I sincerely appreciate you.
Until next time,

**Note from the Author**
This book contains subject matter that could evoke intense emotions from the reader. While it is a love story, there are instances of violence, death, child abandonment, strong language, transphobia, and human trafficking.

Good Books I've read recently
The members of the Sin City MC never leave before all the cards are played.
Being a wild card is par for the course for the Sin City MC’s Maxwell ‘Ice’ Winter. The current Road Captain is tasked with getting the men to their location and back again safely by knowing the back roads, law enforcement traps and safe places to tuck away if danger arises. What he’s not sure of are the five-year-old twins dropped suddenly into his care. While he’d been fighting with their mother for more visitation his life isn’t set up for full time daddy duty. And a score needed to be settled with whoever took their mother from them.
Bree Stanton is like most in Vegas, a transplant. Thousands of miles away from her family in Georgia she missed the old neighborhoods. Generations of people leaving, only to come back. There was no old lady sitting on a porch with the latest gossip. Instead she was met with people confused by her wave at the mailbox, shutting doors to her. All, but one, with a set of adorable twins making her feel like family. When the kids wander to her house because mommy won’t wake up she’s pulled into a world of chaos. One the woman used to the certainty of mathematics is unsure she can handle.
Between Ice’s need for revenge, the threat of the murderer returning and want to protect the littles calling her Auntie, Bree has to remember adrenaline fueled romances never work. Will her logical and cautious nature short her heart of a man worth taking a chance on? And can Ice settle his affairs and teach the first woman to break through his cold heart what it means to be claimed by Sin?
