Welcome 2026! Newsletter update from Darie McCoy
Jan 06, 2026 1:01 pm
Hey, Y’all!
I wish you the happiest New Year! If you’re new here, welcome!
In my first newsletter of 2026, I bring updates and future plans along with celebrating milestones. I entered 2026 still working very hard to complete the last round of edits for Draft Pick Season IV: Vitaly.
My sincere thanks to my Patreon subscribers for hanging in there with me when I pulled way from my frequent content posts to focus on this book while trying to wedge in some time to rest. Somehow, I managed to do both. 🎉🎉🎉
Vitaly and Jacelyn’s story is the final book in the Draft Pick Series. And while I’ll be sad to no longer write in this world, don’t worry, it’s not the end of writing sports romance for me. And you’ll probably see characters from the series pop up in other books. If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ll know that I love for my worlds to overlap and get a glimpse of the characters from the perspective of those around them.
Anyway, without further ado, I’m pleased to share the cover for Draft Pick Season IV with you!
Releasing January 23, 2026. Pre-order your copy today!
Book Releases for 2026
Draft Pick Season IV will make my 22nd published book. And, as of January 5, 2026, I typed ‘The End’ on number 23. 😳😳
That’s cause for celebration! So, while I have my cocktail and kick up my feet to binge watch my latest sci-fi obsession, Supernatural, I hope you’ll stick with me on this journey.
During 2026, I have five releases scheduled with a secret project I hope to share with you soon. I’m revisiting a world I haven’t written in a while, and I’ll introduce new characters along the way.
2026 Book Events
I’m scheduled to attend four events this year. I’ve cut back from last year. Although I love opportunities to meet and mingle with readers and make new author friends, it took a great deal out of me to travel so much during 2025. It forced me to make tough decisions about what I’d do in 2026.
I hope to see you at one of these book events. If you plan to attend, please reach out. I’d love to meet you and I always have a little something for my Patreon and Newsletter subscribers.
Tickets are on sale now. So, get yours and come out and see me and some other great authors!

Writing Update
Now that I’ve completed Power, I’ll be jumping right back into my Blacktooth Summit serial, the paranormal/shifter series that starts with Quinlin and Soraya. It will remain exclusive to my Patreon for a while. So, if you want to read along as I write, subscribe and join the discussion.
I’m also starting on a new WIP soon. I anticipate it being a long novella. That’s if the people living in my head follow the plan. It’s a book I’ve been hoping to get to for a long time. It’s the fourth book in the Frost Family series --Cherry’s story. At the moment, I’m between titles, but once I have something concrete, I’ll let you know. 😉
That’s all for now. As always, thank y’all for rocking with me. I sincerely appreciate you!
If you like having the inside track on what I write, you should join my Patreon to read along as each story is shaped.
Draft Pick Season IV: Vitaly
Love wasn’t in her playbook. But Vitaly Antonov was rewriting the rules.
Vitaly Antonov has carved his own path out of his brother's shadow. Being the professional hockey league’s most sought-after goalie had its perks. Too bad his agent's sister, Jacelyn Shannon, wasn't one of them. At least not yet.
Jacelyn Shannon had learned long ago she was better off depending on herself. Being everything for everyone else was okay. But she stayed solid and solitary. Jacelyn had no desire to link her life with anyone else. Too bad Vitaly Antonov isn't just anyone.
They come together in a whirlwind. Reality rears its head almost as quickly. While they navigate the dynamics of their new relationship, Jacelyn's former life threatens their future. But, Vitaly won't allow anyone to get in the way of their happiness.
Just Kiss Me
Love wasn’t on the table, but he’s all in.
Ensley Warren hasn’t been very lucky in love. In fact, it seems like she dated a variation of the same guy over and over. Taking a self-care day, she walked through the doors of Anton’s High Roller Casino and everything changed.
Ryker Stephens was just minding his business, playing blackjack at Anton’s, when he laid eyes on a beauty who immediately captured his attention. Love was the last thing on his mind. However, from the moment she walked into his arms, literally, his new mission became providing whatever she needed—and he didn’t even know her name yet.
Ensley and Ryker’s attraction is undeniable. Can Ensley trust in what she feels for Ryker, or will she allow societal norms to get in the way? Will Ryker win in his quest to provide Ensley with not only protection, but the desires of her heart?
Her Reluctant Cowboy
Old Wounds. New beginnings. One unexpected chance to get it right.
Four years out of the army, Vivienne Daley finds something which brought her peace. Working with the horses at the Silver Creek Ranch. It’s just her and the sweet beasts who need her TLC. And, as far as she’s concerned that’s all she needs. Going home to Lone Star Ridge isn’t in her plans, until the future of the Daley family ranch is on the line, and she has to seek aid from the one man she’s avoided for years.
Rhinehart Stephens has spent the majority of his adulthood ranch-life adjacent, but not actually participating. He’d even given up his share of the Stephens family ranch to his brother to pursue a career in business. However, no amount of distancing himself from ranch life could keep him away when Vivienne Daley returns to Lone Star Ridge and asks for his help.
Her desire to save the Daley ranch will take more than Vivienne can do alone. But losing the ranch isn’t the only thing at risk with Rhinehart Stephens involved. Can they put their past behind them and work together? Or, will their history cause her reluctant cowboy to turn his back on their future?
Rose and the Crown
Evelyn Sola
In the small, quiet town of Shadow Cove, appearances hide dark secrets — and new beginnings can spark deadly games.
Eden Rose, a dedicated physical therapist and the sheriff’s daughter, never expected to cross paths with a reckless motorcycle biker with a criminal past. When Ripley King saves her from being drugged at his nightclub, a dangerous obsession ignites. His tattoos and leather-clad danger draw her in, but his involvement in illegal activities threatens to destroy everything she loves.
As Ripley's need to claim her grows, Eden fears her carefully crafted world, her family's reputation, and her sense of safety will come apart. She aches to believe in their love, but the darker truths of Shadow Cove—her father's world and Ripley's secrets—push her to the edge. Can their passion withstand the chaos, or will the weight of her fears bury them both before they even have a chance?
The Rose and the Crown is the first installment in the Good Girls, Bad Boys series — a pull-no-punches tale of desire, danger, and the fight to trust in a small town where everyone’s hiding something.
Blind Date with a Rugby Coach
Niccoyan Zheng
Contessa (Tess) Rack is an overprotective mama bear who’s sure her son is ready to play rugby—too bad Coach Milo Hasford disagrees. Their clashes on the sidelines are legendary, and she’s not backing down.
Milo’s got enough on his plate without battling a feisty mom at every turn. But when he spots Tes on a date from hell, stepping in feels like the right thing to do—even if she’s been driving him crazy for months.
In return, he asks for a simple favour: be his date to the Christmas party and keep him safe from overly handsy donors. But as sparks fly and tensions shift, the biggest risk isn’t the game—it’s losing their hearts.
