Welcome to the giveaway and celebration for
Christy Matheson
I throw ordinary people into fairy tales.
Thank you for visiting me on this virtual open house for Women's Fiction Day, 2025! I'd never heard the term "women's fiction" until a couple years ago, but I've always loved many genres of books — as long as I can feel like I'm on the journey with the main character. Fantasy, historical, family stories, romance...if it has good characters and good writing, I'm in!
Scroll down and sign up! Everyone who joins this newsletter during the week of June 1st-8th is entered in the following giveaways:
📚 Grand prize: Beautiful Denik notebook with custom artwork, your choice of design (see below)
📚 Multiple prizes: Your choice of any of my "Castle in Kilkenny: Fairy Tales," e-book copy.
I'll donate one for every ten entries, so your chance of winning is high!
📚 Everyone wins: "Magical Libraries" — an e-book exclusive, released just for my subscribers (like you!) for Women's Fiction Day 2025!
🐶 Everyone gets: The Sheltie Gazette, a friendly bi-monthly newsletter with some books, some fairy tales, and lots and lots of dogs!
Join me for family, adventure, and endings that are more than just a sugar rush.

The Castle in Kilkenny: Fairy Tales
The only things that American folklorist, Maura, wanted from her contentious divorce was custody of her two young children—and an Irish castle. She ended up with more than she bargained for, including her ex’s teenage kids, plumbing problems, and now…
First there are horned women spinning and carding in Maura's living room. Then she gets an entire extra child to raise, along with a deer who accidentally spirits Maura back to the third century. A patchwork man plucks the kindergartener out of her tree fort, a stubborn child sneaks a swan into the guest room, and a friend finds an entire library (complete with a trickster leprechaun) under the stairs.
Each book is a complete fairy tale that does not require reading the series in order, although the characters’ relationships grow throughout. Each color title is a new narrator, the storylines interweaving.
Through one fairy tale after another, Maura and her children rely on creativity and love to solve their highly unusual problems. And through one adventure after another, they try relying on something new…each other.
Join us in the Castle in Kilkenny, where the veil between ourselves and the Fae is thin and shimmering.
