CHAT CLUB member (Stefan Atkinson) would like to say "THANK YOU" to all the CHAT members that supported the running fundraiser for Cancer Research by the St. Jude's Children's Hospital Running Team. Through your contributions Stefan raised over $2000 US for children's cancer research. That is AWESOME!
Mz Muzik Webseries
CHAT Productions have created and produced 7 family-friendly episodes called The Mz. Muzik Show. The fun and entertaining show invites viewers to learn, sing and grow their knowledge and confidence in many aspects of everyday life. Mz. Muzik's invites her friends BowTie Guy and Soprano to visit her studio virtually and this adds a great deal of excitement to the proceedings.
Persistence in our Studies
Are students that go to post-secondary studies sticking with it? Research suggests they are not, but why? Are the students not prepared for undertaking the GRIT and challenges that are required to learn new material, or is the post-secondary system not adapating to the new context of learning in our society?
CHAT Produced Song has Millions of Views
The very popular ABC Song is a family-friendly song focused on identifying and finding letters and was produced in Saskatchewan. Currently it has over 16 million views in English on one YouTube platform. Overall, it is really hard to determine how many total views this song has in English as it has been released on several different YouTube platforms and in several different playlists on these various platforms. In addition, the ABC song has been translated and released in several different languages. Click link below to watch the ABC Song.
Listening and Viewing Activity
Language Arts is more than just reading and writing. It also includes listening, speaking and viewing. The following activity includes viewing a short 1-minute cartoon to watch (or view) and then asks a few questions that might demonstrate how well you listened to the characters. Enjoy the challenge.
Mz. Muzik and BowTie Guy had all their little dinosaur friends and their parents roaring, singing, and dancing at the Cathedral Arts Festival this summer. They plan to do more live shows in 2024, so don't miss out!
Math & Geometry
Unfortunately, many students (and even adults) struggle with math. One topic that people find especially challenging is geometry. Perhaps it is because it is the first time that students encounter proofs, and geometry requires a level of lateral thinking that most children find difficult. Knowing the basics such as identifying geometric shapes and their properties may help.
Success for CHAT Songwriting Team
The Saskatchewan children’s music songwriting team of Paul Runalls and Chris Atkinson have won prizes valued at over $1500 in the prestigious 2022 John Lennon Songwriting Competition for their children’s song “Dinos of the World”. In addition, Paul and Chris, as well as Glenn Ens and Sheldon Corbett were nominated as SaskMusic Producer of the Year tool They compose and produce songs for the animation YouTube educational cartoon series called, “BOOM BUDDIES” by USP Studios. Dinos of the World and other songs produced by the team is sung by Emma Wood and Cam Zoller of Saskatoon and the song was recorded and produced at Audio Art Recording.
ENDANGERED Species Day
What is an endangered species? Endangered species is a type of organism that is threatened by extinction. Species become endangered for two main reasons: loss of habitat and loss of genetic variation. The Javan Rhino is currently the most endangered species in the world. Once found throughout south-east Asia, Javan Rhinos have suffered a staggering decline in their numbers due to hunting and habitat loss.
