Maha Shivratri or Shiv Jayanti reminds us of God’s role of world transformation of transforming the night (ratri) of humanity (Kaliyuga) to the day (din) of humanity (Satyuga). This phase of world transformation between the Iron Age (Kaliyuga) and the Golden Age (Satyuga) is called the Confluence Age (Sangamyuga), which is the present time – a confluence or coming together (sangam) of the two Ages. It is also called the auspicious Diamond Age because God is with us at this time playing His role of the Supreme Father, who gives us spiritual sustenance; the Supreme Teacher, who gives us spiritual wisdom and the Supreme Guru, who shows us the way back to the soul world, from where we have come and also fills us with all the divine qualities and specialties which are required to play our roles in the Golden Age (Satyuga), which He establishes at this time. This present time is most precious in the World Drama. That is why it is called the Diamond Age.
