Chow Sze Lok, a student at St. Mary's Canossian College in Hong Kong, developed Kid-AID over six months after questioning why existing CCTV systems don't proactively flag suspected abuse.
-Kid-AID uses video recognition to detect possible physical abuse in childcare settings
-Won Champion and Best Performance Award at Hong Kong's "童擁AI" Competition
-Earned Golden Award at INTOC Global 2022 International Science Project Competition
-Also won Champion & Best Presentation at AI Innovation & Technology Competition
-Presented at Hong Kong Science Fair and InfoMatrix fair in Mexico
A teenager saw a gap in child protection systems and built an AI solution that's winning international recognition. Chow researched local childcare abuse cases and realized CCTV footage was only
reviewed after incidents occurred. She wanted to create a proactive system that could flag suspicious behavior in real-time. Chow didn't stop with childcare. She also created Elder-AID, a variation designed to detect abuse in elderly care facilities.

I don’t know about you, but I am feeling like I’m on a treadmill that is going too fast and every now and then something unexpected flies in and smacks me in the head. That sounds like a very unpleasant analogy but describes the speed of life and the unexpected life changing events coming at us fairly well. In the middle of all that even though it is exhausting, there is a deep sense of wellbeing at the heart of my being. There is a knowing that all is heading in the right direction. Most of all what I am witnessing from the big picture is that there is a plan to all this and that there is something moving the pawns just at the right time in the right place. When I moved house last year, gosh was that only last year, there were months of dismantling, sorting letting go of and throwing out what was no longer essential before the actual disassembly of my old setup and the move into the new. Finding new places for my furniture, my plants, my photo’s and pictures on the different walls. Creating a completely new environment which 15 months later feels like a beautiful sanctuary perfect for me and my life at this time. This is what we are going through globally, and as uncomfortable as it may seem at times, be assured we will find the best way for all of humanity to live in peace, love and wellbeing together on this land called Gaia. Keep the faith is the message from my guides every day as I am called to be more and do more each day, knowing that we are part of this speed as more people are waking up to who they really are, turning their back on the old matrix of division, lack and suffering, becoming more self-sufficient with a sovereig based on love and peace.
