Here's why

Hi ,

Last week I received a much-appreciated question about the Get It Done Day Work Sprint coming up this Friday. Kathryn asked:

I am intrigued by this concept, but wondering how it works. Are participants all parked at their personal computers working on whatever their working on? If so, what makes this different than any other time set aside to work on a project?

I know this is a question some people have been asking themselves. Here's my reply:

Yes, everyone is at their computer. We're all on Zoom and I track the work sprints and breaks. Sprints are 45-55 minutes. Then we break for 5-8 minutes and during a couple of breaks we do some exercises to keep fresh.
Yes, you can do this on your own.
And, what I've discovered and others who show up every month have discovered, is that being part of a group somehow keeps one accountable to actually do what you plan to do during the 4-hour time frame.
We're all connected the entire time, though on mute during work sprints, and we report in via chat as we move through tasks we've declared we're working on at the outset. You're not alone and you get support from the group.
Everyone who participates reports accomplishing so much more than they do working on their own.
So that's why I offer and facilitate these work days (or actually half days). Every time, the group asks when the next one is scheduled.
I hope that helps!
