Hi ,
Are you superstitious? I'm not. But if you are curious, here's some history about the origin of why people think Friday the 13th is a day of bad luck. Let's turn that on it's head today...collectively we've had plenty of bad luck in 2020, why not look for the good in life today and express gratitude for what we have! 🙏
This week's 5 Things has a more business and marketing focus. The most clicked Thing from last week is at the end. Enjoy!

And, now, 5 Things for you to experience...
1) What I'm Reading: In the Marketing Trailblazers Business Book Club, we're reading The Brain Audit: Why Customers Buy (and Why They Don't)
by Sean D'Souza. Written in 2009, it's still fresh and relevant for online marketers today. I especially like D'Souza's tips for getting great testimonials by creating "reverse testimonials." Start with what the client's doubt about working with you or getting your product and then move towards why and how it worked for them. You do this by asking 6 specific questions that move your client through their journey with you.
2) A Cool Tool for Marketers: I learned about CountdownMail from my colleague Karon Thackston. I've used countdown timers on sales pages, but this one is for your email broadcasts. It's designed to create urgency for your prospective buyers when your offer is about to end. There is a free version to try before you buy, if you want to experiment with it during your holiday offers.
3) I'm a big fan of Google Drive and this article provides lots of ideas and ways to use Drive. I'm not the most sophisticated user of Drive and I appreciated learning other ways to incorporate the tool into my processes: How Google Drive Can Make Every Corner of Your Life Easier
4) And following the previous tips for using Google Drive, this popped up yesterday so take heed if you store files on Drive: Google warns Google Drive users: Use it, or lose your files
5) Good news for the arts: I love stories like this. Live streaming concerts is a model that will not disappear when the pandemic is under control. Artists can reach a wider audience and create more revenue. Niall Horan Concert at Empty Royal Albert Hall Sells 125,000 Tickets Across 151 Countries
Yes, Horan is a big star, yet even he cannot reach fans in 151 countries at one time without livestreaming!
And finally, if you're curious, the Most Clicked Link last week was (I think the clickbait title must have done it!)...
The 35 Most Brilliant Cleaning Hacks of All Time
Your turn...what cool tools or books did you discover this week? Reply and let me know!
Thank you for tuning in today and may you have a lucky Friday the 13th,
Denise
