Yes, as the wise poets Smash Mouth once sang, "The years start coming, and they don't stop coming," and this Thursday I'll turn 48. Unlike most years, however, there's going to be a party! Thanks to my friends in the band GIFTSHOP, their show on the 17th at Bowery Palace (formerly Bowery Electric) will double as my birthday bash. So come have a drink with me and hang out just a block away from where the Ramones, Blondie, and Talking Heads all used to perform!
This birthday will also mark the fourth, and final time I'll be an age where the second number is double the first number (12, 24, 36, 48). I don't know why that came to mind, but it's an interesting quirk, right?
